| York Racecourse is proud to have been regularly voted both “UK Racecourse of the Year” and “Northern Racecourse of the Year” by the Racegoers Club, as well as winning awards from the Times Course Inspector and Travelling the Turf guidebook. The 2008 season promises to be another cocktail of sporting drama, summer sunshine, culinary delights and luxury hospitality.
Live sport is about seeing the best, the Champions. York hosts such races all season so the top thoroughbreds along with the leading jockeys and trainers are frequent visitors. The May Festival has produced a future classic winner in each of the last four years. |

In 2008 there is an extra chance to come to York in the Spring, perhaps to combine an afternoon of racing with a May half term holiday in the historic city. A new Spring Weekend fixture on Friday May 30th, and Saturday May 31st offers the chance to check the form of the leading thoroughbreds ahead of their mid season targets. The Saturday card will include the Listed Edinburgh Grand Cup for stayers and the popular Sprint Cup over 5 furlongs.
For the first time ever you’ll be able to wind down to the weekend with a visit to the Ebor Festival on a Friday, August 22nd. With record prize money of over £2.5 million on offer over the four days and no race worth les than £25,000 this is a Festival packed with top class action.
