Exeter Racecourse - Main shot of jockeysExeter Racecourse is situated high on the top of Haldon Hill, just outside Exeter with wonderful views down towards Dartmoor. It is the highest racecourse in the UK at 850 feet, the second longest at 2 miles and has been described as not only one of the loveliest courses, but one of the fairest tracks in the country.

Horse Racing was first recorded at Exeter 350 years ago in the reign of Charles II and since then many a great National Hunt champion has started their career at Exeter - such as Best Mate and Desert Orchid. Racing takes place at Exeter Racecourse 17 times a year, between October and May with the William Hill Gold Cup Meeting in November being the highlight, and January 1st usually attracts the biggest crowds.

Racing is a unique opportunity to entertain your friends, family, customers or staff and provides an afternoon or evening of unforgettable enjoyment.

Private Boxes

Exeter Racecourse has a range of hospitality rooms to suit all parties accommodating from 10 to 100 guests. Each facility overlooks the racecourse and is situated very close to the winning post. Closed-circuit televisions, betting facilities and a bar enables you and your guests to participate fully in the racing from the comfort of your own private suite. All suites are within easy reach of the Bookies and the Paddock. Each of Exeter’s hospitality rooms is named after racehorses that have had a strong link with Exeter, such as Best Mate, Deep Sensation, Sabin du Loir and Travado.

The Desert Orchid Restaurant

This restaurant has an unrivalled view of the finishing straight and the winning post. You can keep your table for the whole afternoon and you do not need to move from the room as there is a fully stocked bar and a Tote betting facility. There is very easy access to the Grandstand and Paddock areas and the Bookies. You are directly opposite the Big Screen so that you can see the whole race and you don’t miss a thing.
