The three day Northumberland Plate Festival is the North-East’s most loved racing and social occasion of the year. First ran in 1833 and known locally as the Pitmen’s Derby, the Northumberland Plate is the richest two mile handicap in Europe with a first prize of £200,000.

Dress to impress at one of the most fashionable and glamorous occasions of Newcastle’s social calendar. Ladies’ Day has established a reputation as a must attend event and is a fabulous way to enjoy a summer’s afternoon of racing. Superb prizes are awarded to the best dressed ladies.

Newcastle Racecourse has a selection of private boxes for your special occasion, corporate event or family gathering. Please discuss your requirements with us, we are happy to recommend the most appropriate private box or suite for your day at the races.

Private Boxes accommodate guest numbers between 6 and 36.

Restaurants

There are a number of great restaurant venues at Newcastle Racecourse, with super views of the course and exceptional food and service. Tables are available for all numbers of guests, though smaller groups may be required to share a table.
